Markham is the furthest regular run we make and the only one that is not a straight line from the yard. That does not make it difficult, but it does make notice worth more here than anywhere else we deliver.
The city holds two very different kinds of street, often within a few minutes of each other:
Nineteenth-century main streets with the residential blocks around them. Original lots, short driveways, and heritage detail worth being careful around.
The broad belt built out from the eighties onward, either side of Highway 7, Kennedy and McCowan. Wide driveways, straightforward access.
Recent communities where the housing is new and the work is finishing, landscaping or garage and basement clear-outs rather than demolition.
MarkhamThe two halves of Markham want different things from us. Around Unionville and Markham Village the constraint is always space: driveways laid out before two-car households, mature planting close to the pavement, and in places a heritage streetscape where leaving a large steel bin parked for a week is nobody's idea of neighbourly. Smaller and shorter is the sensible approach there. Out in the subdivision belt the opposite is true — the houses built through the eighties and nineties are now reaching the age where kitchens, bathrooms and roofs all come due together, driveways are wide enough to take anything we carry, and the limiting factor is purely how much the job generates. The newest communities to the east produce the least demolition waste of anywhere we serve, and most of those calls are for the smallest bin.
On the heritage streets the driveway is not always an option, which makes this worth settling early. No permit is needed for a bin on your own driveway. Roadway placement is a municipal matter — confirm it with the City of Markham first, and do it before the delivery is booked rather than after the truck is loaded.
Agree the window up front rather than halfway through the job — ask about rental length when you book.
Markham is the one place where we would actively discourage you from counting on a same-day drop. The route runs north and west rather than along the 401, the distance is the longest we cover, and squeezing it into the back of a day rarely works out. Book it a day or two ahead and it is entirely routine; ask for it at two in the afternoon and we will probably be telling you about tomorrow.
Each size has its own page with capacity, what fits and what it costs.
20 yd
14 yd
10 ydWe cannot take dirt, concrete or brick in any size — here is why.
Yes, it is inside the area we cover. It is simply the longest run on our map, which is why we ask for notice rather than pretending the timing is the same as a job down the road from the yard.
Not for one on your own driveway. Street placement is the exception and goes through the City of Markham. On the older Unionville and Markham Village streets that question comes up more often, so it is worth asking early.
The 10-yard is the safe choice on the older streets, and the 14 only where the driveway clearly runs deep enough. Short original driveways are the norm there, and a bin that does not fit is worse than one that is slightly too small.
A day or two is comfortable and makes the whole thing easy to plan. Same-day is the one promise we will not make for Markham, because the distance means it depends entirely on how the rest of the route has gone.
Tell us the job and the address and we’ll confirm the size and the day.
