Whitby is the municipality immediately east of us, a short run up the 401, and it splits neatly in two for our purposes: the old lakeside town in the south and Brooklin in the north, with a lot of nineteen-eighties and nineties subdivision in between.
The town covers a wide stretch of ground and the access conditions change as you move up it:
Century homes and tight original lots around Brock Street and down toward the harbour. These are the addresses where bin size is a real decision rather than a formality.
The broad middle of the town either side of Thickson Road and Garden Street. Driveways here are generous and almost anything fits.
Above Taunton, where the subdivisions are newest and still going in. Plenty of room, and plenty of new-construction waste.
WhitbyDowntown and Port Whitby produce the most careful work we do. Century homes mean plaster and lath rather than drywall, original trim worth protecting, and driveways that were laid out for one narrow car — so the conversation there is usually about fitting the bin rather than filling it. Move north and the constraint disappears: the Rolling Acres and Pringle Creek era of housing is now hitting the age where kitchens, bathrooms and roofs all come due at once, and those jobs take a mid-size bin without anyone thinking twice about it. Brooklin is different again, weighted toward new builds and the finishing waste that comes with them, plus landscaping on lots that were bare ground two summers ago.
Downtown is where this question actually bites, because some original lots simply cannot take a bin off the road. On a driveway, no permit is required. Putting one on the street is the exception and it goes through the municipality, so check with the Town of Whitby first — it is a quick call that avoids a wasted delivery.
Dates are easier to agree before the bin lands than once it is sitting there, so ask about rental length when you book.
The run east is short and almost entirely highway, so south Whitby is comfortably within our same-day reach when the schedule allows. Brooklin and the streets north of Taunton add a few more minutes at the far end, which only matters if you are trying to squeeze a drop into the back half of the afternoon.
Each size has its own page with capacity, what fits and what it costs.

10 ydWe cannot take dirt, concrete or brick in any size — here is why.
Yes. Brooklin sits further north than the rest of the town, so it falls at the end of the run, but it is well inside the area we cover. Worth a call earlier in the day if you want it there the same day.
Only if it is going on the street. A bin on your own driveway needs nothing from anyone. For roadway placement the Town of Whitby is who to ask, and it is worth doing before the truck is booked.
Usually the 10, sometimes the 14 if the driveway runs back far enough. Plaster and lath is heavier than modern drywall for the same volume, so a smaller bin filled sensibly beats a larger one you cannot park. Describe the driveway on the phone and we will pick it with you.
Less than most people assume. The trip east is short, so if you call in the morning there is often room the same day. Later in the day a next-morning slot is the realistic answer, and we will tell you which one you are getting.
Tell us the job and the address and we’ll confirm the size and the day.
